Mason's Russian program is also an integral component of the interdisciplinary B.A. Program in Russian and Eurasian Studies.Responsibilities:This position requires the successful candidate to teach Russian language courses at all undergraduate levels as well as courses in Russian literature, translation, film and media. Additional responsibilities include holding regular office hours, participating in curricular development for the Russian program, department service and extracurricular activities.Required Qualifications:A Ph.D. in Russian Literature, Film and Media, Linguistics, or another related field at the time of appointment. ABD's may apply; andNative or near-native proficiency in Russian.Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching Russian at the undergraduate level;Demonstrated interest in teaching courses that incorporate historical perspective on Russian language and literature and courses that address issues of empire, socio-economic and cultural diversity, film, and new media;Familiarity with curriculum design;Demonstrated interest in mentoring students and student activities; andDemonstrated interest in the creation and implementation of online courses, as well as incorporating technology into the classroom.
