JOB TITLE: Operations Manager
POSITION: Exempt
STATUS: Full Time - Twelve Months
REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer
POSITION SUMMARY: Cesar Chavez Public Charter School seeks a mission-aligned, experienced, and team-oriented professional to join its team as an Operations Manager. This role includes critical planning and support for school operations in facilities management, information technology, school meals, safety and wellness, and the front office. Although the Operations Manager works closely with their supervisor, this position is expected to exercise a high degree of initiative and take on responsibility with outstanding attention to detail and execution in all aspects of the role. An ideal candidate will be comfortable working simultaneously on multiple critical operations projects and initiatives and have a background in school operations. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Management
- Oversee school facilities and the custodian to ensure Chavez has the appropriate resources and plans in place to support impeccable building operations, maintenance, and appearance; a school environment that promotes and protects the safety, health, and wellness of our entire school community; and efficient and creative space planning and utilization.
Information Technology
- Ensure the ongoing maintenance and updating of information systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software and applications.
Lunch Program
- Supervise the School Lunch Coordinator to ensure nutritious meals and snacks are served timely and safely.
Front Office
- Manage the Office Manager; ensure that Chavez maintains and executes on a vision of excellence to promote a welcoming, service-oriented school environment experience for all students, families, staff, and guests.
School Safety and Wellness
- Oversee the School Nurse and student health management.
Inventory & Uniform Management
- Conduct a periodic and thorough inventory of of school materials to include curricular materials to ensure inventory is adquate to meet school needs; place and track corresponding orders.
Other Duties as Assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Three to five years working in school operations
ADA SPECIFICATIONS: This position is based at Chavez Schools Parkside campus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about the building. In addition, travel between Chavez campuses or to other sites could be required, frequency to depend on the needs of the school and position. The employee is regularly required to speak audibly, see, listen actively, and use hands to handle objects while performing the duties of this job. This position requires the ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing cabinets.
