Job Announcement
Serves as the Fiscal Administrator for the Department of Tax Administration (DTA). Responsible for overseeing and managing all budget, procurement, and expenditure processes. Serves as the Human Resource Manager overseeing the agency’s compliance with all personnel policies and procedures. Serves as the agency Training Coordinator, overseeing and implementing various agency-wide training initiatives. Serves as agency Continuity of Operations Coordinator, ensuring continuity of operations is maintained across the agency. Serves as a county liaison with the State Compensation Board (SCB), managing monthly reimbursement and annual budget submission. Oversees the legislative review process and serves as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) coordinator for the Department. Represents the DTA Director as required to the Department of Human Resources, Department of Management and Budget, Office of the County Attorney, Civil Service Commission, Risk Management, Equity Programs, County and Deputy County Executive and other government officials. Helps ensure critical functions occur as required by governing procedures and state law. As an executive team member, you will need to be a visible leader across the organization. This position reports to the Director of the Department of Tax Administration.
Note: The assigned functional areas of the position are financial management, budget, procurement, or human resources.
Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in fields related to the assigned functional areas; PLUS Five years of professional work experience within more than one of the assigned functional areas.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a credit check to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.

- Knowledge of the various policies and procedures on procurement.

- Experience facilitating resolution of complex issues among external and
internal stakeholders. - Supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel).
