Job Summary
Aptive Resources is seeking a Training Lead for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA's) Privacy Program. Successful candidates will have strong knowledge of privacy policy and best practices, demonstrated experience generating user-friendly, dynamic training environments; developing trainings that inform audiences; and encouraging interaction and participation for adult learners. This is a contingent position.
This is an opportunity to impact the privacy practices affecting the VA's 300,000 employees and contractors, and the extensive records of the approximately 26 million Veterans they serve. Sound privacy practices are critical to operations as the volume of personal information the VA handles continues to grow. The position is remote but may require travel to Washington, D.C. It may also be remote with occasional onsite meetings.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a Training Plan that outlines the training requirements, strategy, schedule, resources, environment, materials and evaluation metrics.
- Lead, plan, manage, execute and close out in-person and virtual trainings in support of the client's mission.
- Coordinate with government clients to assign training room locations, prepare the training room and transport physical and electronic training materials.
- Monitor performance to ensure project tasks are completed on time, on budget and within scope.
- Capture and distribute event findings, including outcomes, decisions and action items to inform future sessions.
- Track program level risks, issues, scope and timing changes.
- Coordinate with project manager for status report information on a weekly and monthly timeframe.
- Support the establishment of metrics and measurements to track the performance of the change and transformation recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience working in a complex team-based environment in a consulting-type organization focused on enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of adult learning and change management best practices and methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Prosci).
- Highly organized, systematic and proactive in delivering/preparing materials and meeting client expectations within a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
- Proven event planning and logistics experience to lead the organization and execution of virtual trainings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to travel multiple times a year for in-person training events.
- Experience working with multiple levels of stakeholders to help them identify and prioritize transformation and change management initiatives
- Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Teams is a plus.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and other online platforms conducive to online group learning and engagement.
- Strong knowledge of training and technical assistance delivery best practices including adult learning theory, assessment, analysis, instructional strategies and tactics.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
- Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas and solutions logically both written and orally.
- Experience using and managing documentation and materials in SharePoint.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
- Ability to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders.
- Takes initiative on project tasks that need to be updated or reviewed.
- Has a proactive attitude and works ahead to anticipate needs of client and project.
- Ability to multitask on items throughout the project and virtual trainings when feasible.
- Prosci Change Management Certification desired but not necessary.
