Assistant to the Director & Marketing Coordinator, Dewberry School of MusicTemporary Part-Time Position from October 1, 2023 to March 1, 2024 (25 hours per week).The George Mason University Dewberry Family School of Music seeks qualified applicants for a temporary part-time Assistant to the Director & Marketing Coordinator position. This position is an integral part of a dynamic and vibrant team that provides support for the School of Music faculty, students, alumni, and community of supporters. This position requires access to student information, therefore this position is not open to current students. Responsibilities:Serve as communications liaison between Director, Dewberry School of Music, and students/faculty/community;Manage calendar/schedule for Director, Dewberry School of Music;Supervise student office assistants and marketing interns;Create graphic designs for events in canva or photoshop;Design bi-monthly Constant Contact newsletters promoting upcoming concerts, initiatives, announcements, etc.;Curate social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly known as Twitter) with the assistance of an intern;Assist with preparation of materials for monthly faculty meetings, at the guidance of the Director;Assist with travel processes and procedures for faculty for conferences; andAssist with academic processes and procedures, at the guidance of the Director.Performance Expectations: Maintain a strong level of efficiency and effectiveness in department marketing and outreach with external groups as requested by the Director. Assist with operations and efficiency of the Dewberry School of Music office.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education/experience;Performing arts knowledge;Must navigate databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft suite, social media, Canva or Photoshop with ease;Attention to detail in scheduling meetings with appropriate follow-up on email conversations;Excellent writing skills;Excellent oral communication skills; andDetail-oriented in all aspects.
