The Community Impact and Investment team creates impactful community outcomes and positions Capital One as the most strategically bold, innovative, and mission driven financial institution through:

• fueling strategic community investments (e.g. grants, skills, loans)

The Community Impact and Investment team supports Capital One through leading enterprise volunteerism, conducting market research, fostering community relationships, grant making, originating CDFI loans and partnering with and advising Lines of Business.

The Opportunity and Role:

Community Impact and Investment is kicking off a multiyear transformation to increasingly align business strategy and social impact; launch new, different, and more holistic approaches to investing in our communities; use Capital One's volunteer time and talent in increasingly strategic ways; and use data, analytics, research, and inclusive design to inform more targeted and actionable consulting to our business partners on topics related to a broad view of financial inclusion.

We're seeking a Principal Associate to join our Associate Activation team. The Activation team is charged with fostering a culture of service and volunteerism across the enterprise by building, testing and deploying services to empower our "impact forward" associate base to engage with the community. This is a team of changemakers who seek to empower our associate base to give back by meeting our associates where they are, and delivering the programming and tools they need to easily mobilize their interests, talents and skills in the community.

In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in three key areas:

Human Centered

• You'll source and synthesize stakeholder interviews, market research, and internal data to inform the long term vision for the volunteerism products needed to meet associate and executive needs.
  
• You'll turn these customer insights into actionable strategies that will define the priorities for your team and rally your stakeholders to your vision
  
• You'll work with your team to develop a long-term (12-18 months) volunteerism product roadmap to deliver on business outcomes, and you'll deliver the tooling, resources, programming and interaction models that bring those volunteerism products to life.
  

Test, Learn and Scale

• You'll deliver volunteerism solutions that support both always on, enterprise-wide virtual engagement opportunities and targeted "weeks" or "seasons" of enterprise service.
  
• You'll develop and deliver tools, collateral, and best practices to create a self-service model "Center of Excellence" for hyper-local engagement by associates across the company (ex: guidance on non-exempt volunteer processes/approvals, how to search for local opportunities, how to record personal volunteerism, etc.)
  
• You'll create and test new programs (e.g., a sabbatical program) or test the evolution and improvement of existing programs (e.g, Board placement and service), as well as new engagement strategies to build awareness and participation in Associate Engagement programming.
  

Mobilizing our Associates with a Business Mindset

• You'll create a marketing plan and then collaborate with internal partners to execute it to advertise events and programs across Slack, email, internal sites, and live discussion in team meetings. You'll measure the success of these marketing efforts by tracking how associates learn of and engage in our volunteer programs.
  
• You'll manage and coordinate the messaging, communications, and content that will activate, engage, and empower associates who want to give back to their communities.
  
• You'll report KPIs for your tools, programs and interaction models and will be responsible for measuring and tracking to those measures, with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in program management, project management, or a combination of the two
  
• At least 1 year of experience working for a for-profit company
  
• At least 1 year of experience in human centered design and product build experience (note: tech and engineering team management not a requirement)
  
• At least 1 years of experience in marketing, communications, or product marketing
  
• High School Diploma, GED, or military experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in process management
  
• Experience in volunteerism, talent engagement and morale experience
  
• Community organizing, nonprofit, or political experience
  
• 2+ years of experience in human centered design and product build experience (note: tech and engineering team management not a requirement)
  
• 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or product marketing
  
• 3+ years of experience working for a for-profit company
  
• 5+ years of experience in program management, 5 years of experience in project management, or a combination of the two

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
