We are seeking a Database Senior Administrator (Oracle) to join our team supporting the Defense Contract Management Agency in Carson, CA.
This program provides support to help DCMA achieve state-of-the-art, dependable and secure systems that support the Agency in its mission. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform database administration duties for all DCMA environments to include installations, patches, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostics. Other tasks include creating and sustaining database objects.
- Perform as the lead Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) for the collection of databases in all DCMA environments to maintain the health, performance and operational readiness of the databases.
- Update and resolve all assigned tickets in the agency's ITSM tool, to include Incidents and service requests, within the required timeframes.
- Generate a before and after Monthly User Access Report for DCMA databases and database management systems and validate/reconcile authorization of each user against the DCMA ITK (DCMA Cyber Security) 360 DD2875, DoD System Authorization Access Request, library.
- Schedule, execute, and monitor automated database jobs and report job failures daily Monday through Friday each week with nightly checks Sun-Thurs, and re-run jobs upon failure if applicable.
- Provide an accurate/comprehensive Monthly Database Metric Report. Establish and maintain a metrics program to document successes and failures, trends, perform analyses, and brief database performance to the government.
- Develop and update database software upgrade plans for presentation to the government for approval and implement approved upgrade plans as required.
- Create documentation necessary to support a database upgrade or installation. Ensure when troubleshooting, to provide detailed instructions on troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Evaluate and test new features/functionality.
- Implement, maintain, document, and test the backup and recovery strategies.
- Initiate requests for server provisioning when additional servers are required for hosting databases
- Install, configure, and upgrade database server software and related products
- Maintain and enforce naming standards for database objects such as table spaces, tables, indexes and views.
- Maintain the integrity of the data in all databases.
- Monitor database performance and resolve performance issues.
- Perform database migrations and optimization.
- Perform database health checks (which includes health reports as needed) and take corrective measures where appropriate
- Perform data refreshes within the supported environment.
- Review and monitor system and instance resources to insure continuous database operations (i.e., database storage, memory, Central Processing Unit (CPU), network usage, and input/output contention)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of senior level experience in Oracle Database, and Oracle Grid Controllers Database in an enterprise environment supporting over 10K users, with primary and stand-by sites, and multiple databases.
- Certifications:
- One of the following DoD 8570 IAT-III certifications:
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (or Associate)
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
- Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with ADP Level 1 eligibility (T5 investigation)
