Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems. System administrator will ensure the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manage meet the needs of the users.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance,
    configuration, maintenance. and repair.
  • Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
  • Train staff on how to use software and hardware.
  • Perform troubleshooting as required.
  • Install, modify, and maintain systems and utility software.
  • Diagnose and recommend fixes to problems or potential problems with the network and its hardware, software, and systems.
  • Ensure the stable operation of the computer software systems and network connections.
  • Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links.
  • Analyze and resolve software program and connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
  • Assist in system design, development and implementation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of infrastructure system administration experience in a large z/OS Db2 enterprise environment
  • Day to day experience in building and supporting z/OS Db2 systems
  • Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Skills to deal with audit requirements, providing artifacts from the z/OS environment
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with IBM DB2z DBA tools such as DB2 Admin, Table Editor, Query Monitor and Omegamon
  • Knowledge of IBM Data Replication tool, QREP/IIDR
  • Knowledge of other replication tools such as IBM CDC would be a plus
  • Knowledge in setup and execution of Db2 z/OS V12 utilities
  • Expert knowledge of IBM z/OS JCL
  • Knowledge of DB2 V12 and features
  • SQL performance monitoring and tuning skills
  • Knowledge of DB2 authentication and authorization mechanisms (such as RACF, ACF2, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IBM Query Management Facility (QMF) and Information Management System (IMS) preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite tools, Change Management tools (Service Now, etc.)
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
