Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) Developers, to be part of a team, to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Performance Analysis and Integrity (PA&I) for the Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). EDW is the source for all data and information about Veterans benefits data. It contains relevant data from each of VBA's transactional systems and arrays the data in a variety of business intelligence reporting for executive managers, business lines and claims processing teams in VBA's Regional Offices. EDW data is used for fraud detection and prevention, financial auditing, and reports to Congress. It is the source for all legal reporting requirements, to include the Government Performance Accounting Act, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006.

The OBIEE Developers must have experience with diverse IT projects both large and small within an Oracle environment. You will work within a diverse team and multiple firms supporting one mission.

This position is onsite in Washington, D.C. at the VA facility during the normal operating hours of 0800 - 1700 EST Monday to Friday, excluding Federal holidays.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Rapidly, accurately, and efficiently produce, maintain. extend, and resolve issues with OBIEE 19c adhoc and recurring reports, responding to customer requirements.
    • Design OBIEE analytics according to business requirements
    • Analyze and translate business line report requirements provided formally and informally through stakeholder meetings or electronic communications, recommending alternatives to the COR and/or Technical PM for integrating data into accurate and usable information.
    • Rapidly and accurately analyze and translate VBA's usable information contained in the OBIEE 19c environment into visual representations of that data as required.
  • Provide technical O&M support to software that leverages OBIEE for reporting.
    • Maintain OBIEE optimization levels and performance sufficient to enable adhoc reporting to meet the immediate and urgent BI needs of VA decision makers.
    • Provide after-hours monitoring, on-call support, and notification support for OBIEE servers in EDW and its applications.
    • Maintain access control rights for users that access OBIEE reports.
    • Maintain access to data underlying OBIEE reports
    • Maintain a SAS Server Dashboard in OBIEE that monitors server storage and active SAS users.
    • Provide technical support for all data visualization software that is incorporated in the OBIEE 19c or higher. troubleshoot all potential issues or problems that may arise during implementation of the software in coordination with Oracle when required.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in OBIEE development tools and related optimization techniques


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an OBIEE Developer to include OBIEE 19c
  • Proven expertise using data structuring tools.
    • Proven expertise in Installing, upgrading, and configuring business intelligence and OBIEE tools.
    • Proven expertise developing and designing data modeling concepts using OBIEE tools.
    • Proven ability to analyze complex data structures, designing effective dashboards and ad hoc reporting.
    • Proven ability to develop enterprise dashboards and reports using OBIEE plus related tools.
    • Proven expertise providing recommendations and identifying critical issues and processing faults to optimize BI products.
    • Proven ability to performing testing sessions for reports and dashboards and resolving process issues.
    • Proven experience supporting performance monitoring and tuning, and automation of production activities related to Data Warehouse, ETL and BI environment.

  • Cloud migration experience as it pertains to Oracle databases and BI Tools
