The Marketing Events Manager serves as an AARP expert in event production and supports the execution of events as a critical channel for brand experience and engagement. Plans, develops, and manages company presence at events and trade shows. Research options and costs and makes recommendations for new events and varied arrangements. Manages the execution of and consults with internal/external facilities staff regarding all aspects of the event presentation and activities. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline marketing event processes and develops new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities
- Manages the development and production of multi-channel events and activations nationwide. Advises on event strategy, attendee journey, and event execution and manages external agency relationships and internal clients.
- Directs full-cycle event logistics to include research and event selection, venue/vendor sourcing and management, content creation and delivery, attendee experience and engagement, registration, communications, speaker management, matrix staff management, budget management, and live event production.
- Serves as a strategic leader and collaborator with internal and external stakeholders to build ongoing relationships, develop new creative ideas, and prioritize activities that benefit the organization's enterprise.
- Serves as a mentor and advisor to department and association planners on the development and execution of events.
- Supports leadership in the cultivation of new event production and activation opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Event Planning, Production, Management or related field or equivalent years' experience and education.
- 5+ years of experience in event planning and production for multi-channel events (in-person, virtual, hybrid), with a proven track record of project and client management.
- As a member of a shared service team for the enterprise, must exhibit excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills working with a variety of event stakeholders and across multiple levels of management.
- Successful candidates will be detail-orientated, bring creativity, innovation and understand the integrative nature of events and live experiences.
- Knowledge and basic proficiency of Cvent Event Management Software.
