Facilities Management at the University of Maryland College Park seeks experienced Maintenance Mechanics in our Facilities Maintenance unit to troubleshoot a variety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout campus. Duties include performing preventative maintenance tasks and making minor repairs to systems in buildings throughout the campus. Successful candidates must be skilled in multiple trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC at a journeyman level with the ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints. Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a diverse customer base are required. Qualifications: 1) 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the skilled trades including 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity, 2) a valid Class "C" driver's license with fewer than 6 points. The starting salary range is $49,619 - $59,543 commensurate with experience. This position is Essential and subject to 24-hr day, 7 day-week span of operation.
