Oversees a small revenue team. Manages cashier operations to include applying customer payments and refunds and the associated reconciliation of accounts. Coordinates with division managers and program managers to develop short- and long-term projections and financial forecasts. Provides monthly revenue reports and investigates variances. Creates and updates policies and procedures related to revenue management and recommends business improvements as needed. Responsible for the overall management, professional development, and performance management of a team of professional-level financial staff. Establishes and maintains supportive partnerships with senior management and program staff to ensure strategic utilization of the agency's financial resources. Works under the general direction of the Chief Finance and HR Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:
(Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for "Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting; or a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field that has been supplemented by at least six credit hours of basic accounting principles and concepts; plus four years of professional-level finance or business administration experience. A master's degree in a related field or CPA may substitute for one year of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, and a credit check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties are generally sedentary and performed in a normal office environment. However, incumbent may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items up to 25 pounds. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings and make presentations to County staff. Ability to operate keyboard driven equipment, phone and retrieve documents from file cabinets. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.

- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, accounting, finance or a related field.
- Prior financial experience within local or state government.
- Three or more years of experience managing revenue
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and review details, and ability to effectively synthesize information for appropriate audiences.
- Considerable experience Microsoft Office Suite, including high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel to analyze and manipulate data.
- Experience with SAP (or Oracle or similar Enterprise Resource Management System).
