Senior Platform Engineer

Capital One is looking for a Mac Platform Engineer to join our growing Mac Engineering team. The platform has grown to support over 25,000 endpoints in recent years, as one of the fastest growing physical platforms at Capital One. The engineering role will be focused on liasoning with our support teams, continuing to enhance our platform security, assisting other members of our engineering team with software testing/validation, and identifying and implementing additional solutions for improving our end user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with business-as-usual packaging requests to package, test, and make available new macOS applications and application updates.
  
• Support Cyber Security Operations Center Investigations / Inquiry Requests, as well as our Business Controls team which perform endpoint locking operations
  
• Respond to Engagement Requests from other LOBs, gather requirements, and present to engineering team
  
• Debug problematic behaviors to improve compliance efforts (Examples: Improving FileVault compliance metrics)
  
• Assist with maintenance cleanup and review of Jamf policies
  
• Assist with testing and validation of new software and agents the engineering team is planning to deploy. Act as a backup to support this process.
  
• Assisting our Tech Escalations team with troubleshooting complex end user issues that are pervasive in the enterprise, and driving problems to resolution.
  
• Creating detailed Knowledge Base articles for end users and technicians to reference
  
• Creating & updating internal process documentation/reference material (Descriptions of Jamf profiles, workflow triggers, etc)
  
• Automated Slack triggers/responses for end user questions
  
• Identify additional opportunities for automation
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  
• At least 2 years of experience utilizing Jamf Pro for managing MacOS devices
  
• At least 2 year of experience using packaging tools (Jamf Composer, Apple's package utility (pkgutil), or Suspicious Package)
  
• At least 2 years of experience developing Shell scripts, AppleScript, or Python scripts
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
  
• Jamf Pro Certification (Jamf Pro 200, 300, or 400)
  
• 2+ years of experience in Change Management
  
• 2+ years of experience working with a Service Desk or Ticketing System
  
• 2+ year of experience working within an Agile environment
