TheAdministration Clerk I will serve as the primary point of contact for managing team suspense, calendars, and office administration tasks or the Records Management Team at the Headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Work you'll do
As aAdministration Clerk I within our Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) team, you will:
- Perform standard clerical duties, like typing, faxing, photocopying, filing, picking up and distributing mail, and receiving telephone calls and visitors.
- Maintain Records Management Team (RMT) calendars.
- Arrange RMT meetings and conferences.
- Attend and report on RMT meetings.
- Type a variety of documents from draft to final version using automated office systems using a personal computer.
- Produce memoranda, reports, forms, spreadsheets, and similar materials with excellent proofreading for grammatical and spelling errors is required.
- Develop, maintain, and research processes to implement an effective recordkeeping system.
- Assist RMT preparation for meetings and conferences.
- Complete annual Chenega and DoD required trainings as required.
- Record labor hours daily in the company's timekeeping as
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of relevant office experience.
- National Archives and Records Administration certification desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Background check required and BOP security clearance eligible (Public Trust).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must complete NARA KA 1-6 classes to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
- Possess intermediate skills of office automation software, like MS Office 2007 based programs or higher, and other types of office information database software.
- Ability to work individually, in teams, and interact in a tactful manner with the government staff.
- Demonstrated ability to deal simultaneously and calmly with several crises, to determine the relative importance of each, to recognize important users of the service, to accord to them priority attention, to discern the true nature of problems from imprecise descriptions, and to refer problems to the proper individuals for resolution.
- Must be able to multi-task in a high stress, performance-based environment.
- Must have the ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have the ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as requested.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as required.
