Prospect Research Analyst

As the Prospect Research Analyst supporting the Major Gifts Team at the AARP Foundation's Development Group, you will be critical for helping to drive prospecting research and quality leads. In addition, you will work to improve the impact of fundraising and engagement as well as looking for new and integrated ways to build donor pipelines that better connect our Major and Planned Giving audiences. Assist in implementation and coordination of an organization-wide comprehensive donor relations and engagement strategies that appropriately and consistently promote interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels for increased philanthropic support. Perform work associated with fundraising campaigns for the organization.

Responsibilities
- Provides support in the process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and/or stewardship of the donors and prospective donors assigned within their respective donor/prospect pool or fundraising channel.
- Performs functions and processes that support the fundraising process (e.g., identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, systems/processing, stewardship) within their respective donor/prospect pool or function.
- Utilizes appropriate resources and processes to help ensure personal and departmental success in meeting departmental and personal objectives and goals.
- Performs processes and functions that support fundraising goals and expectations as needed.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and board policies (e.g., gift acceptance) pertaining to gifts, contributions, grants and other charitable support raised.
- Adheres to ethical standards established by Association of Fundraising Professionals and National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience
- 3 + years of experience in research; ideally in donor and prospect research
- Experience working with quantitative/qualitative data
- Familiarity with wealth and age screening systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
- Knowledge of CRM systems; experience in Salesforce NPSP a plus
- Experience utilizing donor prospecting research tools, donor modeling and a sense of curiosity
- Solid understanding of major gifts fundraising practices and best practices in prospect research preferred
- May require up to 5% travel
