Director of Finance is part of the Finance & Accounting's Leadership Team in our Fairfax, VA office. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of business and drive the company's financial strategy and planning. Director of Finance is an experienced professional and leader with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles. He/she is a strategic thinkers and effective leaders who can make sound financial decisions. This role will work directly with senior operational managers and other teams within Accounting & Finance.

Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reporting for Senior Management and the Board
- Ensure appropriate application of accounting principle (e.g. Lease Accounting and Revenue Recognition)
- Develop corporate financial reporting and commentary that provides senior leaders with timely insights into trends, operational results and business drivers
- Lead and establish process of analyzing monthly financial reports, business KPIs, dashboards, and data models to support reporting and forecasting processes
- Lead annual budget and planning process;
- Oversee various audits related to financial data with agencies such as DCAA and State Transportation Agencies;
- Work closely with the business stakeholders to understand business drivers and continue to develop solutions to address issues
- Serve as business partner to operational and executive teams to help drive effective business decisions
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls
- Create solutions to gain process efficiency through automation and improve data integrity
- Oversee or conduct ad-hoc finance projects and analysis
- Provide development and day to day management of the Financial Service staff
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- Strong leadership and business acumen
- 15+ years of Corporate FP&A or related experience
- Experience in government contracting
- Strong background in operational finance with a leadership role in reporting financial results
- Ability to create, influence and execute cross-functionally to achieve results
- Ability to communicate and present information effectively to senior management and other stakeholders (written, orally and via presentation materials)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to forge interpersonal relationship with key stakeholders
- Passion for coaching and mentoring staff
