Responsibilities/Duties:
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience and have extensive hands-on expertise of Trusted Print Delivery and Trusted Gateway Services from manufacturers such as Forcepoint, BAE, and Lockheed. Possess skills and knowledge in Red Hat Linux, SE Linux, VI editor, Cross Domain Controlled Interfaces, Automation and Scripting tools and command line. - Engineer and configure data routes between various domains with varying classification levels and ensuring security of data and ensure the daily operations of the cross-domain environment.
- Carry out all component patching, maintenance and upgrades and ensure any changes are documented and verify any changes do not introduce any new operational or vulnerability issues.
- Provide documentation on the current and planned configuration of the cross-domain environment
- Resolve performance and operational issues both proactively and as they occur.
- Work with security and engineering groups to ensure all components are monitored and within approved specifications.
- Assist with system accreditations and resolve security vulnerabilities, findings, or mitigate concerns.
- Engineer and configure printing between cross domains and secure configurations sufficient to acquire authority to operate.
- Engineer, design, install, implement, and configure as well as ongoing integration and support of the Unix/Linux Infrastructure.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for cross-domain environments which may consist of Windows and Linux based operating systems to include Red Hat, AIX, Solaris, or CentOS.
- Create and maintain bare-metal and virtual machines with the appropriate distribution of Linux and network configuration, using tools that include Satellite Server, Puppet and BigFix.
- Provision/configure required software onto servers, such as web servers and databases.
- Evaluate, improve, and maintain the information security throughout the Linux infrastructure.
- Monitor and correct critical server issues and create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Possess excellent knowledge base in DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, and integration with Windows to solve technical and functional issues.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems and provide 4th level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts on a monthly interval.
- Integrate systems with Windows as it applies to authentication and core services dependencies such single sign-on and Active Directory. Engineer and implement solutions for multi factor authentication with FBI standardized software and hardware.
- Document system configurations to include passwords, access controls, version number, and revision numbers, patch levels, and inventory to include hostnames, TCP/IP addresses, number of processors, and number of cores, memory, and license keys.
- Continually transition knowledge to the Government staff through training and assistance on how to use the technology using industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Linux Professional Certification (LPIC) or higher (Red Hat Certified Administrator (RCSA) required within 6-months after hire date.
