this opportunity with Chenega Analytical Business Solutions (CABS) at the Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC), you will help offer a full range of services and solutions to support and promote the readiness of the American Soldier. The EMC is the one-stop shop for visual information services throughout the Federal Government and the Department of Defense. EMC offers a full range of media services to enlist, educate, and empower the warfighter.
Summary:
TheDigital Intermediate Technologist (DIT) will ensure the success of simultaneous projects by assessing and working to mitigate risk, report progress, and communicate effectively with Cinematographers, Director of Photography (DoP), Directors, Producers, and post-production staff. This employee supports the capture, editing, archiving, and searching of digital products for the EMC. The Digital Intermediate Technologist (DIT) will provide daily information assurance and information technology support to ensure the functionality of employees and equipment. The Digital Intermediate Technologist (DIT) will provide VIOS user support both internally and externally to the EMC.
Work you'll do:
As a Digital Intermediate Technologist (DIT) w ithin our Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC) team, you will:
• Serve as DIT for all video productions of the current production process for media management purposes.
• Assist the video engineer with computers, software, network interface, NEXIS storage, studio equipment, and television and broadcast services.
• Provide organization and supervision of all portable media and drives to be used for the correct transfer of media to the Enterprise Multimedia Center post-production facility.
• Maintain and update the catalog filing system, add new video productions to the catalog spreadsheet, and store them properly.
• Make digital assets easily discoverable using metadata management techniques.
• Locate footage/project and tape, retrieve/restore requests, make DVD/CD copies, and create disc jacket covers.
• Manage workspaces/folders and projects within the government-provided storage system.
• Ensure all new b-roll is uploaded and stored properly within the Enterprise Multimedia Center Digital Library, and check email for new work orders.
• Update VIOS and secure workspace daily.
• Serve as the primary interface between the NEC and the Enterprise Multimedia Center to keep pace with changes in technology and software.
• Interface with the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) to place requests concerning trouble/remedy tickets, installs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and monitoring hardware and software.
• Perform IA/IT functions process and track mandatory cyber training and Acceptable Use Policy documentation and DD2875 network access verification, for all personnel assigned to the EMC and VIOS installation administrative personnel located across the Army.
• Coordinate and maintain data appliances and site connectivity with department leads for technical support to automation and communication systems.
• Coordinate the delivery and maintenance of computer network assets for identified requirements and support activities within the EMC.
• Possess elevated rights and privileges to assist the VIOS Systems Manager with providing timely VI Enterprise helpdesk support to front-end users.
• Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.
• Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED is required.
o Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years' experience working with cinematographers, directors of photography (DoP), directors, producers, and post-production staff during television shows or working on short and long-form films in a production house or film studio.
• Possess a certification in Security+ and MCSA Windows 10 Certified within 6 months of hire.
• Background check required and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to pass customer security requirements.
• Must have expert competency in file formats from various camera systems.
• Knowledge of archiving digital assets
• Possess a keen knowledge of the Defense Visual Information Distribution System (DVIDS) for uploading and retrieving imagery for social media purposes, and customer support.
• Possess a strong technical background in computer networking.
• Must continue pace with advancements in technology during the lifecycle of this project.
• Must have a keen production and technical background with an established production workflow.
• Possess knowledge of camera and digital equipment and provide support for live productions for either studio or remote locations and assist with streaming live events on multiple platforms in the studio and remote locations.
• Ability to manage files necessary to carry over to Enterprise Multimedia Center for post-production editing system.
• Possess expert knowledge in Avid editing technology and be able to work with video engineers and editors throughout all phases of video production.
• Ability to multi-task in a high-performance-based environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required with the ability to interact with all levels of staff, government personnel, and management.
• Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines.
