this opportunity with Chenega Analytical Business Solutions (CABS) at the Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC), you will help offer a full range of services and solutions to support and promote the readiness of the American Soldier. The EMC is the one-stop shop for visual information services throughout the Federal Government and the Department of Defense. EMC offers a full range of media services to enlist, educate, and empower the warfighter.

Summary:

TheAudio Engineer will manage the entire audio production process from pre-production and tracking to mixing and mastering.

Work you'll do:

As an Audio Engineer w ithin our Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC) team, you will:

• Operate ProTools in collaboration with Avid systems and have access to the extensive live sound curriculum with the ability to engineer in-house video productions.

• Provide audio services to include all phases of video productions and perform as an audio engineer at multiple events and able to assist with video productions.

• Support audiovisual presentations services at the Jacobs Conference Center and Wylie Theater, studio operations, as well as video streaming services.

• Provide a high degree of creativity to help the Creative Staff with their manipulation of content both visual and aural.

• Design, installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all A/V solutions to ensure optimum performance.

• Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.

• Note and track the progress of maintenance and repairs to equipment.

• Contribute to conversations about workflow improvements and standardization across our portfolio of shows.

• Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.

• Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• 5+ audio engineering/production experience with the ability to take the ProTools Certifications exam or Logic certification exam.

• Background check required and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to pass customer security requirements.

• Must have post-production skills such as field recording, film mixing, editing, and ADR.

• Must know audio systems, mixers, and processes, and possess the knowledge of invention, imagination, and originality on the recording, manipulating sound using equalization and electronic effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement.

• Ability to possess the technical aptitude and background in the practical application of audio editing, missing, sound effects, and audio sweetening in video production.

• Strong communication skills are required to communicate with large production staff, producers, directors, animators, and editors.

• Must have technical aptitude and leadership skills equivalent to a post-production house or motion picture complex.

• Ability to be highly attuned to software and hardware upgrades and be able to be mentored for higher levels of responsibilities such as audio interface equipment, microphones, microphone preamps, mic stands, headphones, headphone amps, studio monitors, stands, cables, diffusers, pop and reflection filters, desk/work stations, monitor management systems, software /plug-ins, rack mounts, power conditioners, digital converters, analog hardware, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

• Communication skills must bridge both the audio engineering and artistic worlds of the production process and be equal to the customer service required of the Creative Staff in all forms of interaction with the client.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
