From driving sustainable economic growth to financing new infrastructure and technologies, we are supplying solutions that our communities will need to thrive in a changing world. Our newly established Climate Strategy, Analysis & Advisory Team is responsible for understanding the shifting climate landscape and advising senior leadership on the implications for Capital One. Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Manager with a strategic mindset and ability to synthesize rapidly evolving climate policy, regulatory, technological, and operational (e.g., accounting, reporting) requirements and guidelines. The Business Manager will join a cross-functional and enterprise-wide team to navigate climate efforts, developing and executing a well managed and results-focused agenda, exercising judgment to balance results with key stakeholders and partners, effectively communicating and influencing across all levels of the organization. You will also focus on building in-depth perspectives on select topics that are critical to the Climate Strategy team's current priorities. This role comes with the unique opportunity to hone your thought leadership on climate topics, communication skills, and influence and problem solving skills through interactions with a diverse and cross-functional group of business partners and external stakeholders.

  • Building relationships and collaborating with external stakeholders to develop informed perspectives on requirements and guidelines
  • Maintaining or building in-depth perspectives on select topics relevant to the current priorities of the Capital One Climate Strategy team
  • Supporting and facilitating climate-related discussions for senior and external audiences
  • Preparing written materials, storylines, and talking points for high level audiences
  • Preparing informative presentations for the executive leadership and the Board of Directors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
  • Clear results orientation, displaying a focus on achieving both short and long term goals with high judgment and business acumen to understand the tradeoffs. Drive and execute an agenda in an ambiguous and fluid environment
