As Business Manager on the Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics - Counterparty Credit team, you will serve as a subject matter expert on counterparty credit risk and risk measurement at the level of financial products and operations.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. New York City (Hybrid On-Site) : $160,200 - $182,800 for Business Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.

As Business Manager on the Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics - Counterparty Credit team, you will serve as a subject matter expert on counterparty credit risk and risk measurement at the level of financial products and operations.
- Apply subject matter expertise in assessment of key risk drivers for: deposits, securities, loans, and bilateral and cleared derivatives, margining, collateral, and clearing
- Demonstrate strong general knowledge of:
- Traded products, including securities, loans, and derivatives
- Governing legal documents: (ISDAs, MRAs, MSFTAs)
- Terms and procedures designed to reduce risk within risk scenarios
- Working in cross-functional teams with exposure to legal, accounting, and economic aspects of risk management
- Traded products, including securities, loans, and derivatives
- Conduct, support, and enhance reporting on counterparty credit risk metrics
General Responsibilities:
- Credit Risk: Support measurement of counterparty credit exposure
- Partnership: Work with quantitative analysts, credit officers, technology teams, and other stakeholders to continuously review and enhance exposure methodologies and policy documents
- Leadership: Represent Counterparty Risk group on regulatory matters as required and serve as liaison with regulatory examiners and internal auditors
- Strategic leadership: Partner with sales and trading on development and roll-out of counterparty credit exposure framework for new products or structures
- Establish and support effective challenges in a risk management function
- Execute: Manage and contribute to firm-wide projects around key counterparty credit exposure metrics and technical enhancements
- Strong executive communication skills: Demonstrate strong organizational, control, project management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Articulate and explain technical concepts to non-technical specialists
- Adapt communication based on context and consistency with firm-wide values
- Perform both independently and within high-functioning teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
- At least 2 years of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in analysis
- 2+ years of experience in financial services
- 1+ year of experience in consulting
- 2+ years of experience in people management
- At least 3 years of experience in Excel or Google Sheets
- At least 2 years of experience with Python or R
- Professional certifications, such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
- At least 2 years of experience with third-party data services (e.g. SNL/S&P Market Intelligence, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg)
- Familiarity with risk management principles and methodologies
- Familiarity with complex financial data, market risk concepts, including market data analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis
- Strong written and oral communication skills
