Oversight of company financial performance:
- Monitor monthly and year-to-date financial results as compared to budget
- Prepare financial statements including Statement of Activity and Statement of Financial Position
- Prepare forecasts and long-term projections
- Oversee government cost reports and audits
Cash management:
- Manage cash position and cash flow for all cash and investment accounts
- Initiate wire transfers
- Develop and maintain cash flow projections
- Ensure adequate internal controls over cash and deposits
Organizational risk management:
- Review contracts and agreements
- Review insurance coverages in conjunction with COO
Staff Management:
- Supervise finance staff
Oversee the company budgeting process:
- Establish timelines and budgeting process to meet reporting needs to the Finance Committee
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process with management
Manage annual audit and tax preparation process:
- Prepare work papers prior to the audit
- Be the main contact person for the audit firm
- Resolve audit issues
- Review draft audited financial statement and footnotes for accuracy
- Be the main contact person for the tax preparations
Ensure business compliance:
- State and federal tax authorities including IRS and Department of Revenue
- Bank and debt agreements, including preparation of required reporting documents
- Government compliance requirements for Medicaid funding including Cost Reports
- Assemble reports and documents for annual and quarterly tax filings
Accounting function:
- Record daily and monthly journal entries
- Perform monthly closings and related reconciliations
- Oversee payroll processing
Other Responsibilities:
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reporting as required
- Assist other departments as it relates to financial reporting
- Maintain updated accounting manual for current operating policies and procedures
- Prepare other analyses as requested
- Liaison with government entities
Position requirements:
- Minimum of seven years of accounting experience and five years of supervisory experience
- BS degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, with strong Excel spreadsheet experience in a professional capacity
- Knowledge of federal Medicaid funding preferred
