Patriot Green Fund Coordinator (Part-Time)The George Mason University Sustainability Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a part-time Patriot Green Fund Coordinator. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:This position will administer the Patriot Green Fund, a $100,000 grant program that promotes campus engagement with practical, impactful sustainability research and infrastructure improvement projects. It will also co-lead the Mason as a Living Lab initiative, which attracts projects from Mason's faculty that pursue on-campus research in sustainability. Together, these programs unite operational sustainability needs with research and teaching needs. The position is expected to interact with students, faculty, and staff to attract, assess, fund, and provide logistical support for research, teaching, and practical projects that improve Mason's triple bottom line.Required Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of project management including successfully managing scope, timeline, and budget of multiple projects;Detail oriented and exceptional attention to detail;Excellent time management and organizational skills;Ability to assess priorities, organize, and operate in a flexible manner;Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines;Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels;Excellent communication skills;Works well with a team and is flexible to meet the needs of the organization; andMust currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelors' degree in sustainability, business, or project management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience;Significant experience working on sustainability projects, project coordination, committee leadership, and budget management;Demonstrated understanding of sustainable concepts, practice, and challenges associated with sustainability in higher education;Significant experience working with all levels of university constituents, especially students; andSignificant experience with budgeting and facilities improvements in higher education.Additional Information:$28.00 an hour / 20 hours a weekThis is a hybrid position (on-site and remote), with flexible schedule.
