Executive Director, Steamboat Era Museum

The Steamboat Era Museum, a small community history organization in Irvington, Virginia, seeks an energetic, creative, and goal-oriented leader with non-profit and philanthropic experience to serve as Executive Director (ED).  The general responsibilities of the ED are broad but focus on management and operation of the museum, development, and collection management.  In concert with the Board of Directors, the ED undertakes long- and short-range planning, policy development, budget preparation and monitoring, development of museum programs and services, and facilities management.  The ED manages one part-time staff member, a contracted marketing consultant, and volunteers who serve as docents.  Work hours will be flexible and consistent with museum requirements and the ED’s needs and preferences.  The baseline expectation is for a 24-hour work week (three eight-hour days or equivalent).  Interested applicants may visit the Museum’s website at https://steamboateramuseum.org/HR/ for a detailed job description, application submission instructions, and additional information about the Steamboat Era Museum.
