Bachelor of Individualized Study (BIS) Part-Time Academic Advisor (Wage)The George Mason University, School of Integrative Studies, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Bachelor of Individualized Study (BIS) degree part-time academic advising position. BIS offers students generous transfer credit options and a distinctive educational opportunity to integrate other college-level learning, such as professional or military experience, into university coursework. Students create interdisciplinary concentrations to meet their own educational needs including to advance professionally, to prepare for graduate or professional programs, or to plan a path toward a career change.Responsibilities:Academic advising, including but not limited to, registration readiness, degree completion, and undergraduate policies & procedures; andAdministrative support for other student services activities, such as recruitment, orientation, retention, registration overloads, assessment, and record management & tracking.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree; andExperience with university-level academic advising, especially in working directly with students to provide information, answer questions, and provide guidance.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree; andKnowledge of Banner and Degree Works (Ellucian based degree progress platform).Hours:20 - 25 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
