Direct-Enroll/Bilateral Exchanges Program AssistantThe George Mason University (GMU), Global Education Office (GEO) is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a part-time Direct-Enroll/Bilateral Exchanges Program Assistant. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Global Education Office:The units directly under the Senior International Officer (SIO) and Executive Director consists of: The Global Education Office (GEO) and International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP); in addition, there is close collaboration with other international-focused units at the university such as INTO Mason, Mason Korea, and Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS). These units collectively support the internationalization efforts of the university and in support of the University's Strategic Plan, serving both students studying abroad, as well as international students coming to Mason. About the Position:Assists Direct Enrollment/Bilateral Exchange Programs team in the administration of GMU study abroad programs for outgoing and incoming students. Duties include answering student inquiries, processing student forms, advising students on program options, the creation, maintenance and publishing of program materials. This position will also be responsible for mapping partner institution course work to Mason Majors. This position requires maintaining relationships with GEO staff, students, and administrative and academic units on campus.Responsibilities:Program Adviser/Record Keeping:Assist Program team with answering student inquiries in the team email box (outgoing program team inbox) - triage inquiries, elevate as needed. Advising students of program options and study abroad policies. The position also requires updating program materials, cost sheets, post application materials in MasonAbroad system. Updating program information on GEO Advisor resources (Partner Manual, Master spreadsheet, etc.); assisting with the management of communication with students. Also manages curriculum mapping with departments across campus for program offerings, including: Best programs for X Major lists, One-page what is exchange, and Partner Addresses in FedEx Portal. Finally, the position will be responsible for updating the admin calendar and assisting/leading other long-term projects/materials such as video tutorials, development of promotional ideas, etc. The position also assists with incoming programs as needed.Promotion of Study Abroad/Other Duties as Assigned:Assist with department projects as assigned. Organize activities to promote department within the University (name recognition).Required Qualifications:BA in related studies such as International Studies, Education, or Foreign Language, or the equivalent combination of education and expereince;Experience in study abroad as a participant or in an administrative role;Administrative experience; andApplicants should have experience in student advisement, experiential education, field studies, international experience, marketing, intercultural communication skills, ability to work with people of different cultures, computer skills, general budgeting experience, program or event planning, and be knowledgeable of different educational systems throughout the world.Preferred Qualifications:1 year of administrative experience;Background in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education or field studies is desirable; andCandidates interested in education abroad is preferred.
