Office Administrator The Global Education Office (GEO) at George Mason University is hiring an Office Administrator to manage the administrative operations of the office, as well as calendar and email management for the Senior International Officer (SIO) and Director for International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP). The Office Administrator is expected to consistently seek ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of all administrative aspects of the GEO. The Office Manager is the point person for all general requests, including: routine maintenance requests, mailing/shipping, office supplies equipment, telecom administration, etc. The Office Administrator supervises 6-7 student Office Assistants during the Academic Year.Responsibilities: The Office Administrator will oversee the following areas: General Office Administration & Calendar & Email Management: Responsible for general office administrative functions including calendar management for the SIO and the Director of IEP. Also responsible for triaging emails for the SIO. Responsible for upkeep of the office, maintaining general office supplies, and inventory maintenance, parking passes, etc. Human Resources Management: The Human Resources aspects of the Office Manager include, but are not limited to, the hiring, on-boarding and training of student work-study and student wage office assistants, initiating electronic hiring transactions, making arrangements for on-site interviews in terms of lodging and on-campus parking. This requires a very high degree of discretion and professionalism. Confidentiality is paramount to this process. Financial Management: The Financial Management aspects of the Office Administrator's position include, but are not limited to, assisting the Administration, Finance and Human Resources Manager & Fiscal Specialist identify opportunities for increasing fiscal efficiency. Event Planning & Management: The Event Planning & Management aspects of the Office Administrator's position include, but are not limited to, supporting the Marketing & Outreach Manager and the Administration, Finance and Human Resources Manager. In addition to the above, support is also provided to the Program Administrators, assisting with all planning, coordination and execution of program-related events, including the Study Abroad Fairs, Pre-Departure Orientation, Staff Retreats, Global Gateway Galas, and any other special events throughout the calendar year, including room reservations. Travel Logistics & Support:The Travel Logistics & Support aspects of the Office Administrator's position include, but are not limited to, the support of all faculty leading Study Abroad programs and acting as delegate where needed.Other Duties:Perform other duties or projects as assigned by the Administration, Finance and Human Resources Manager, as well as the Assistant and Associates of Global Education and the Senior International Officer and Executive Director of Study Abroad..Required Education/Experience:A Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent combination of education and expereince;Administrative experience, where an intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite was obtained; andAbility to multi-task and orchestrate a variety of activities all at once. Time management is a key component of this role.Preferred Qualifications:5 years of administrative experience; andBackground in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education or field studies.
