The MIL Corporation is seeking a Financial Subject Matter Expert (Financial Analysis, Senior Associate) to work with a Federal client in Mississippi.
The Financial Subject Matter Expert provides a broad range of financial management knowledge and experience as part of a team delivering accounting and financial support.
Responsibilities
Applies financial management concepts, processes, practices and procedures on technical and operational assignments.
Serves as senior resource with experience in supporting projects related to individual subject matter expertise in the finance functional domain.
Provides advice and expertise to teams using the systems and processes that support financial management services to perform complex operations.
Advises on accounting and financial management services such as:
Contributes to process and policy improvements
Advises on changes to systems and practices across the team
An employee in this position works with team members and senior program leaders.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Education
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.

Provides advice and expertise to teams using the systems and processes that support financial management services to perform complex operations.
Advises on accounting and financial management services such as:
- Operations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fund balance with Treasury, and travel
- Reconciliation of journals, subsidiary ledgers, and balances of an accounting system
- Issues with invoices, statements, accounts, and submitting units
- Analysis and reconciliation of financial system information with operating unit data
- Examination and correction of financial management data to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with accounting procedures.
- Maintenance of files, records, and reporting
- Suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions
Contributes to process and policy improvements
Advises on changes to systems and practices across the team
An employee in this position works with team members and senior program leaders.
Required Qualifications
- With a Bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience in federal financial management
- With an Associate's degree, 15 years of experience in federal financial management
- Expert-level knowledge of financial management and accounting practices and principles.
- Expert skills in using the systems that support financial management services
- Ability to assess and improve federal financial based processes
- Ability to identify and solve problems through teamwork and consultation
- Skilled in continuous improvement methodologies
- Adept at change management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
