Admissions CounselorThe George Mason University, School of Business, invites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor. This position will work to enhance the recruiting efforts of the School of Business Graduate Programs, with a focus on access, diversity, equity, and inclusion, to help achieve the School of Business and University strategic goals. Washington, D.C. is ranked the 30th most racially and ethnically diverse city nationally amongst cities with a population of at least 300,000 people according to the U.S. News & World Report 2018 Diversity Ranking.Responsibilities:The Admissions Counselor has responsibilities in the following areas:Recruitment:Proactively communicate and engage with prospective graduate students with the intention of helping and encouraging quality candidates to move to the next step of their applicant journey;Immersing prospective students in the brand and culture of George Mason University, the School of Business, and their program of interest during the research and application process; andMaintain awareness of services, programs, and courses within the School of Business and the University.Development:Work with the Director of Enrollment to develop and execute a recruitment plan for college campuses throughout the mid-Atlantic. This includes travel to these campuses as a representative of the George Mason University School of Business Graduate Programs;Build high-quality, in-sync relationships with programs and University associates. Work with the Director of Enrollment and internal stakeholders including Career Services, Undergraduate Advising, Graduate Academic Services, and Undergraduate Recruiting within the School of Business and at the University level to expand the School of Business Bachelor's Accelerated Master's (BAM) outreach;Work with assigned programs to determine how to best leverage these offerings to drive new enrollment; andImplement strategies to optimize yield between application stages.Special Projects:Work with the Graduate Enrollment and Outreach Specialist, engage in planning and execution of recruitment programming for the School of Business consisting of open houses, program specific information sessions, and a variety of other in-person and virtual recruitment events to accommodate potential prospective students; andWork to enhance the planning, execution of BAM recruitment and onboarding events, a communication plan, and data reporting.Required Qualifications:Proficient in Microsoft Office;Excellent writing skills;Customer-oriented/service-oriented approach;Excellent interpersonal skills;Work respectfully and professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders;Time management skills and good prioritization decisions;Adept at creating and delivering engaging presentations;Knowledge of Gen Z cultural norms;Embodies the values of George Mason University's mission; andMotor vehicle records check, valid drivers license. Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of higher education recruitment and admission best practices;Knowledge of School of Business curriculum and missions;Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and data analytics;Multi-lingual, generative AI to optimize efficiency;Ability to work independently; andAbility to think critically to provide solutions to difficult problems and create value.
