Executive Assistant to the Board of Trustees and Chief Financial Officer, GMUFThe George Mason University Foundation (GMUF) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit foundation and a private corporation organized and operated exclusively for the benefit of George Mason University. The Foundation receives, manages and administers private gifts, including endowment and real property for the benefit of the university.This position also offers:Potential for flexible telework and hybrid telework scheduling;Competitive salary; andOutstanding benefits including:Health & life insurance, multiple industry-leading retirement plans available including state VRS Hybrid Retirement Plan, accrued paid days off per year, paid holidays, paid winter break (subject to annual approval), paid sick leave, professional development, tuition reimbursement at GMU, and employee assistance programs.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Provide primary support to the George Mason University Foundation Board of Trustees (BOT) and works with senior leadership to ensure smooth and efficient operation of board activities and strategic initiatives within the foundation, the university, and the community;Responsible for creating and overseeing communications and interactions among internal/external stakeholders (the trustees, the university president's office, the initiatives and engagement team, the donor relations and stewardship team, academic units, and various departments throughout the university);Work with the Chief Financial Officer of GMUF to ensure that the board operates in accordance with the GMUF Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation;Work with the CFO for GMUF in planning and facilitating all board and committee meetings with a commitment to best practices;Work with and assist the Director of Volunteer Engagement and Philanthropy on engagement and events for BOT members; andResponsible for providing administrative and operational support to the CFO of GMU and the Foundation as a whole.Required Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications that encompass capacity to draft correspondence and official meeting minutes;Demonstrated organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail;Highly proficient in office procedures including meeting preparations, word processing, excel, data base use, file maintenance and creation, budgeting, and problem solving;Capacity to initiate and work independently;Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion;Ability to operate in a fast-moving, deadline driven work situation;Proactive with a good sense for processes, policies and procedures;Excellent customer service skills;Excellent experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook;Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines;Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task;Event and meeting coordination and planning;Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills;Ability to generate ideas, think creatively and develop innovative solutions;Excellent interpersonal skills; professional, diplomatic and able to main confidentiality;Ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles;Ability to speak, listen and write clearly and concisely, using appropriate communication tools and techniques;Excellent database use and file maintenance;Related office experience, with executive support including meeting and document creation and preparation; andExperience working with a diverse constituent base.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education and experience;Progressively responsible office experience, preferably in a higher education setting, with executive support including meeting and document creation and preparation;Considerable knowledge of higher education operations, policies, and procedures;Proven success working effectively with a broad array of diverse constituents; andCommissioned Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
