The Data Intervention Coach/Coordinator provides leadership, professional learning, and coaching support to teachers that builds teacher capacity in providing data-driven, multi-tiered instruction and interventions, thus increasing opportunities for all students to succeed. The Data Intervention Coach serves as School Testing Coordinator (STC), performing a variety of professional, supervisory, technical, and administrative tasks in directing the administration of standardized testing of students. Finally, the Data Intervention Coach/Coordinator may provide support/intervention services to students in one of the following core content areas: English language arts, Spanish language arts, math or science. This position reports directly to the Principal.

Essential Functions:
  • Organizes and facilitates, in a collaborative manner, program specific professional learning and implementation to support the inclusion and achievement of all students.
  • Coordinates services and communicates program goals with appropriate personnel.
  • Strengthens teachers' instructional knowledge and their repertoire of pedagogical strategies for teaching rigorous content to all students, including Project GLAD, small group instruction, biliteracy development, etc.
  • Facilitates the consistent use of effective instructional strategies by supporting teachers through professional learning communities, co-planning, co-teaching, modeling,demonstration sessions, reflecting, and focused classroom observations.
  • Collaborates with teachers (general education, special education, English Language teachers and other coaches/specialists) and administrators to develop and provide differentiated support in which teachers set student growth and achievement goals and professional development goals that are pedagogically-based and data-driven.
  • Facilitates the analysis and interpretation of formative and summative assessment data for continuous school-wide improvement.
  • Assists administrative and instructional staff in analyzing and interpreting data and designing, implementing, and evaluating interventions within a multi-tiered system of support to improve student achievement.
  • Collaborates with teachers, both individually and in professional learning communities, to analyze student work, reflect on instructional delivery, evaluate lessons, and differentiate instruction accordingly.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
  • Possesses strong leadership qualities, interpersonal skills, and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with cultually and linguistically diverse students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Possesses knowledge of the concepts and principles of shared decision-making.
  • Expertise in planning and delivering professional development including advising,coaching, and mentoring adults.
  • Effectively communicates through written and oral language and establishes trusting relationships with varying levels of stakeholders.

School Testing Coordinator
  • Coordinates and supervises the school-based implementation and administration of local and statewide testing programs.
  • Assigns, trains, directs, and supervises staff assigned to testing programs to ensureadherence to established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Assists and advises school staff, as necessary, resolving problems as non-routine situations arise.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as a liaison with the Department of Accountability.
  • Interprets and disseminates test results in a timely manner, and monitors proper use and further dissemination and maintenance of score reports.
  • Conducts ad hoc research projects (e.g. teacher loads, grade distributions, lexile ranges,etc.) to convey information to principal.
  • Consults with appropriate faculty/staff to determine validity of requests for exemptionsfrom testing and/or for modifications in testing procedures.
  • Monitors the administration of tests and investigates discrepancies in test administration.Consults with and provides test data and analysis to teachers, specialists, and administrators in support of improved student achievement and the School Education Plan.
  • Monitors federal and state guidelines related to testing and works with staff to develop plans to meet annual benchmarks.
  • Oversees ordering of test materials for the school, verifies shipment, and coordinates repacking and shipping of materials.
  • Provides training and support in software and instructional materials in SOL courses.
  • Stores all testing material in a locked room at the school to ensure security of test forms and related materials.
  • Works with teachers and specialists in setting up remediating classes and disseminatinginformation to students and parents.

Works with staff at the school to prepare for assessment programs and consults with technology services on computer hardware and software issues and concerns.

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test

Public Health Compliance
  • Proof of COVID vaccination. Exemptions for religious/medical will be reviewed.
  • Must follow safety and health protocols
