Program AssistantThe Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual to work approximately 20-25 hours per week as a part-time Program Assistant. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Provide administrative support for inclusive excellence programs;Serve as the initial point of contact for the inclusive excellence programs;Oversee the day-to-day management of programs, including operational functions such as scheduling meetings and activities, managing electronic communication, event planning, and budget management;Communicate effectively with different stakeholders, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners;Provide timely management and follow through of various projects in support of the activities involving the Inclusive Excellence Unit in the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion;Meet regularly with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnership and senior leaders in the Inclusive Excellence Unit to ensure programming needs are met and are in alignment with unit needs; andOther related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Ability to prioritize competing deadlines, follow through, and be flexible;Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism;Ability to self-manage work to ensure timely completion of activities;Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals with differing needs at all levels of the organization;Demonstrated skills planning events, including scheduling and managing electronic communication;Demonstrated written and oral communication skills;Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills;Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy; andExperience using Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel), internet and e-mail.
