Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Senior Instructional System Designer with demonstrated experience identifying training needs for clients. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with training efforts for large-scale federal programs, health informatics and health IT efforts.

This is a full-time position that is remote, and is a contingent hire.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs creative learning content and activities; ability to mock-up designs and/or lead design sessions with graphic artists/multimedia developers to develop learning content.
  • Develops and authors interactive e-learning courses using multimedia and knowledge check functionality.
  • Facilitates presentations to groups of content owners/Subject Matter Experts through the design, development and implementation of workforce training.
  • Evaluate instructional programs, course content and instructional methodologies.
  • Design and develop learning solutions based on accepted adult learning theory and in multiple modalities to include instructor-led, web-based, and blended instruction.
  • Collaborates with and maintains a strong working relationship with Subject Matter Experts throughout instructional design process.
  • Plans, executes and manages instructional design projects leveraging internal resources and using effective project management methods to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Manages expectations for content, accuracy, timeliness and areas of improvement of processes and deliverables.
  • Monitor performance to ensure project tasks are completed on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Effectively address business and performance objectives.
  • Capture and distribute event findings, including outcomes, decisions and action items to inform future sessions.
  • Track program level risks, issues, scope and timing changes.
  • Coordinate with project manager for status report information.
  • Support the establishment of metrics and measurements to track the performance of the change and transformation recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience, ideally working in a complex team-based environment in a consulting-type organization focused on enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Education, or related field. Prosci Change Management Certification desired but not necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of adult learning and change management best practices and methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Prosci).
  • Highly organized, systematic and proactive in delivering/preparing materials and meeting client expectations within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with multiple levels of stakeholders to help them identify and prioritize transformation and change management initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams is a plus.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System
  • Experience with the KnowBe4 training platform
  • Experience with Jira Service Desk and Jira Workforce Management
  • Strong knowledge of training and technical assistance delivery best practices including adult learning theory, assessment, analysis, instructional strategies and tactics.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders.
  • Takes initiative on project tasks that need to be updated or reviewed.
  • Has a proactive attitude and works ahead to anticipate needs of client and project.
  • Ability to multitask on items throughout the project and virtual trainings when feasible.
