Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a Health Communications Manager to join our dynamic, award-winning health communication team. You will have solid experience in project and client management, content development, public health partner engagement, and technical assistance. You should be highly experienced in supporting materials/product development and clearance, partner engagement, and technical assistance for Federal grantees. Experience in developing communications strategies and messaging around chronic and infectious disease prevention and working with public health clients and Federal grantee organizations is highly preferred. 

Job Responsibilities:
•     Manage a diverse team of communication specialists in delivering strategic communications support to Federal clients.
•     Draft accurate, compelling, audience appropriate print, web, and social media content on a range of important and emerging public health topics.
•     Work with multimedia designers to create a range of 508-compliant print and electronic products, including brochures, infographics, reports, media materials, and videos. 
•     Lead development and coordination of training and technical assistance to grantees.
•     Maintain client relationships, working daily with the client to deliver strategic counsel, and proactively identify and propose solutions for project challenges.  
•     Manage project budgets and timelines to achieve revenue targets. 
•     Assist with marketing and business development initiatives. 
•     Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: 
•     A bachelor's degree in public health, communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
•     A minimum of 10 years of experience providing communications and product development support for public health/healthcare communications programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
•     Experience providing onsite support to federal public health clients. 
•     Experience supporting and obtaining Federal agency publication clearance. 
•     Experience in developing communications strategies and messaging around chronic and infectious disease prevention and working with public health clients and Federal grantee organizations. 
•     Experience managing budgets and timelines.
•     Experience developing proposals.

Other Required Qualifications: 
•     Demonstrated communication skills. 
•     Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.
•     Organization skills, including time management ability. 
•     Detail oriented.
