Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Needs Assessment Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As the Needs Assessment Coordinator, you will:
• Presents clinical assessments to Psychiatrist in a concise, accurate manner, both verbally and in writing to determine appropriate placement of patient.
• Collaborates with evaluating clinician and referral sources to facilitate admissions to the behavioral health units.
• Provides clinical information to the charge nurse if the patient is admitted to the in-patient unit.
• Contacts managed care representatives, third party payers, primary physicians or other relevant persons in order to provide clinical and/or demographic information required to verify insurance and/or obtain authorization for clinical services.
• Answers all incoming phone calls from persons and providers requesting acute clinical services for psychiatry to determine appropriate level of care and refers patients, as clinically indicated, to external services when a service is not provided within the array BH&WS programs.
• Schedules clinical evaluations in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Provides clinical triage services to the Emergency Department, Needs Assessment Center office and other hospital departments where appropriate.
• Documents all calls in the tracking log and documents disposition of patients on the department cover sheet.
Qualifications Include:
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other related field
• Minimum of 1-2 years in Mental health field
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Work Schedule:
This full time 40 hour position will be in the SGMC Emergency Department Needs Assessment offices.
Hours: M-F 8a-4:30p
