The MIL Corporation seeks a highly skilled and motivated Virtualization and Systems Administrator (Network/Systems Administration, Analyst) to join our team. The Administrator will be responsible for e nsuring the smooth operation and maintenance of virtualization infrastructure and operating systems that meets the needs of our Federal Government client on-site at the Patuxent River, MD location. The ideal candidate should have experience in virtualization and operating systems administration with knowledge of networking, and cloud technologies . This position may be eligible for some remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

  • Manage and maintain our virtualization infrastructure, including virtual machines, hypervisors, and virtual networks.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, with a focus on Windows and Linux (Linux expertise preferred).
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of virtualized environments.
  • Implement security measures to protect virtualized systems and data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualized systems with networking and cloud technologies.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving system-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in virtualization, operating systems, networking, and cloud technologies, and proactively recommend improvements or enhancements.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or greater in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years' experience in Windows and Linux operating systems administration.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE Certification
  • Experience working with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and provide technical support to end-users.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional) or operating systems (e.g., Linux Professional Institute Certification).
  • Experience in scripting or automation using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $80,000 - $110,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
