The MIL Corporation seeks a highly skilled and motivated Virtualization and Systems Administrator (Network/Systems Administration, Analyst) to join our team. The Administrator will be responsible for e nsuring the smooth operation and maintenance of virtualization infrastructure and operating systems that meets the needs of our Federal Government client on-site at the Patuxent River, MD location. The ideal candidate should have experience in virtualization and operating systems administration with knowledge of networking, and cloud technologies . This position may be eligible for some remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our virtualization infrastructure, including virtual machines, hypervisors, and virtual networks.
- Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, with a focus on Windows and Linux (Linux expertise preferred).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of virtualized environments.
- Implement security measures to protect virtualized systems and data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualized systems with networking and cloud technologies.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving system-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in virtualization, operating systems, networking, and cloud technologies, and proactively recommend improvements or enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or greater in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years' experience in Windows and Linux operating systems administration.
- CompTIA Security+ CE Certification
- Experience working with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and provide technical support to end-users.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional) or operating systems (e.g., Linux Professional Institute Certification).
- Experience in scripting or automation using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
