Sr. Associate, Project Management

At Capital One, risk management is the business. As a Project Manager within the Financial Services' Business Risk Office, you'll work closely with our risk office process and command center team members to both manage projects and participate as a key contributor to those projects. In addition to your responsibilities within the project management domain, you'll support key governance functions that ensure perfect operational control that enables our internal customers to safely win in the market. An integral member of the team, you will have a high level of exposure across the division, partnering closely with senior business and risk office leaders, technology, compliance, legal, and Operational Risk Management--smart, talented people who will challenge you to excel.

General Responsibilities:

• Manage and contribute to process and Enterprise-change related projects that have a direct impact on the organization;
  
• Ensure scope of project deliverables, timelines and budget are met: identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed; manage up and downstream project impacts;
  
• Plan, design, manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation;
  
• Partner with process team to identify ways to improve and streamline risk office processes;
  
• Facilitate regular meetings with process and delivery teams. Document progress and report to stakeholders on project status;
  
• Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation;
  
• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery;
  
• Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments; and,
  
• Perform process governance and monitoring activities to ensure flawless delivery of Enterprise requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  
• At least 3 years of Project Management or Risk Management experience
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters / MBA degree
  
• 5+ years of Project Management experience
  
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
