Job Announcement
Under general supervision, maintains and inspects the Fire and Rescue Academy facility, supplies, equipment, and vehicles assigned to the Training Division to be in a constant state of operational readiness for emergency services. This work location contains specialized training props, systems, and tools to meet the needs of firefighting and the delivery of patient care. Serves as the point of contact for logistical issues regarding tracking and management, for general training supplies and equipment. Establishes and maintains equipment/facility records, inventory and other documents for accountability and supply reports. Loads, unloads, and moves training/cleaning supplies using specialized equipment such as skid steer Bobcat, snowplow, forklift, and hand trucks. Coordinates special equipment repairs with external vendors, other agencies and utilizes online vendor accounts and p-card procurement. Serves as the primary contact for all facilities and maintenance service providers and coordinates all subcontracted services for the Training Division. Inspects facilities and adjacent areas to address specific maintenance needs. Schedules preventative maintenance for the facility, maintains record keeping and tracks facility repairs to satisfactory completion. Ensures the security of the facility and maintains keys to all offices, equipment storage and vehicles. Oversees and/or performs daily inspection and weekly routing cleaning/preventative maintenance of vehicles and mechanical equipment to ensure they are working properly and maintains inspection reports. Drives and operates specialty vehicles (heavy equipment, bus, fire apparatus, etc.). Maintains knowledge of firefighting equipment and apparatus operation and maintenance principles, occupational hazards and performs safety precautions. Drafts reports and generates online vehicle, equipment repairs and facility repair requests. Maintains logs, inventories, and tracks all accountable property assigned to the Training Division.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education, plus four years of inventory, purchasing, accounts payable or material storage operations experience.

- Assists with the supervision of warehouse/storeroom operations;
- Supervises the receiving, storage and issuance of supplies and equipment;
- Investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies and makes proper adjustments in inventory management application;
- Serves as department's Property Manager for accountable equipment;
- Plans and monitors staging areas;
- Audits and analyzes inventory to ensure availability and to minimize cost;
- Identifies surplus and obsolete items, arranges for disposal or coordinates surplus sales;
- Places orders for stock/supply replenishment;
- Researches and develops specifications and standards for the procurement of non-standard equipment, parts, materials and services and ensures that such items meet or exceed established specifications;
- Determines most economical supply source and selects the appropriate procurement/purchasing method;
- Utilizes purchasing application software, procurement cards, vendor online catalog and state contracts to generate purchase orders;
- Contacts vendors to expedite and coordinate deliveries and resolve discrepancies;
- Plans delivery schedule and routing;
- Processes invoices for payment and enters invoices in Accounts Payable application software;
- Researches and/or solicits vendor prices and availability quotes;
- Reviews relevant purchasing contracts and participates in the review of bids and recommendations for contract awards and changes;
- Evaluates and monitors vendor contract performance and resolves problems with vendor;
- Manages contracts and reports discrepancies with Department of Purchasing and Supply Management;
- Develops specifications and assist with IFB process;
- Maintains detailed purchasing, receiving and issue records using FOCUS;
