Job Details

Dewberry is currently seeking an Applications Developer that will provide functional and technical support for existing enterprise applications as well as supporting moving to NextGen cloud implementations.

In this position, the Applications Developer will be a part of the Digital Transformation initiative which will be modernizing our ERP, HRIS, CRM, and data platforms over the next three years. While functioning as part of a cohesive application development team, this person must also be able to work independently across multiple teams with different internal stakeholders, to assist with functional and technical processing, as well as to develop enhancements for existing and future enterprise & corporate platforms.

The ideal candidate should have familiarity with the application life cycle management framework as well as the project management methodology and will have the opportunity to support development projects while developing skills to plan and design solutions, develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals

Responsibilities

  • Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements
  • Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of applications based on client requirements
  • Application support includes analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing application enhancements, troubleshooting (brownstone support), integrations
  • Assist in developing functional and technical requirements, specifications, and associated documentation as needed.
  • Use Web-Based APIs (Application Programming Interface) to integrate internal and cloud-based systems
  • Quickly learn the latest innovative technology to integrate into various business applications
  • Triage and troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support to various business applications
  • SQL specific skills include T-SQL, performance tuning, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services
  • Manage and maintain objects in Azure SQL Database like Tables, Views, and Stored Procedures
  • Coordinate with/assist the operational teams in assessing and testing minor application updates or major application upgrades that impact existing processes and integrations


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in a related IT field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in IT programming and support and demonstrated hands-on experience and/or training in areas of emerging technologies
  • Solid foundation and passion for technology
  • Effective communicator, both technical and non-technical topics with people of all business levels
  • Effective problem solver and results focused

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with programming languages such as SQL, C#, VBNET, ASPNET, MVC
  • Ability to formulate application solutions and program logic from business requirements
  • Prior experience with enterprise systems including CRM, HRIS, ERP and their corresponding business dependencies
  • Preferred experience developing integrations using REST APIs
  • Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Experience in building ETL pipelines and data flows using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks
  • Experience & ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Manages complexity: making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Technical savvy: Readily learns and adopts new technologies; anticipates the impact of emerging technologies and make adjustments.
  • Action-Oriented/Drives Results: continues to accomplish objectives despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Collaboration and Effective Communication: Ability to engage directly with business customers and other technical teams in a language the business can understan
