Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in successfully managing large-scale programs for a federal client. The ideal candidate has previous experience managing multiple projects, with a total lifecycle budget and complexity, as well as experience working on health informatics and health IT efforts.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented Project Manager with previous experience leading government contracts. They will be highly organized, collaborative, systematic, and proactive in managing quality and exceeding client expectations within a fast-paced environment.

The Project Manager is a proactive problem solver who works well both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be committed to providing superior customer service and have a positive and flexible attitude. They excel when presenting to clients and are comfortable receiving and implementing feedback on project tasks. They will develop, lead, track, and support program efforts.

This is a full-time position that is remote, and is a contingent hire .

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a large-scale program, encompassing multiple projects, with a total lifecycle budget and complexity.
  • Plan, initiate, manage, execute and close out programs in support of client's mission.
  • E-mail a monthly progress report to the Contracting Officer, that includes a progress summary and update on milestones.
  • Responsible for the overall project quality and program success.
  • Responsible for effectively executing the intent of project and agency objectives through understanding project needs and tailoring work to meet those needs.
  • Responsible for demonstrating exemplary strategic communication and problem-solving skills with business owners, peers, management, and contract staff.
  • Responsible for interfacing, both orally and via written communication, with the Government and contractor management in the planning and control of this project.
  • Responsible for advising client of any difficulties arising from the administration of the contract.


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in communications, political science or other related field or the equivalent education/experience.
  • 6 years of professional experience supporting a large corporation or government agency, preferably a large Health Care organization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience planning, initiating, managing, executing and closing out programs in support of clients.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate (written and verbally) across most mediums and settings.
  • Experience with planning, initiating, managing, executing and closing out programs in support of client mission.
  • Experience preparing and managing integrated project initiatives, performing major decision making, solution development, analysis and evaluation, and risk mitigation.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
  • Experience with business processes and system improvement projects and efforts.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively in teams managing multiple projects with complex deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
