Summary
The Office of Inspector General (OIG), works within the U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to prevent or stop waste, fraud and abuse in departmental programs. This position is located within the Office of Inspector General, Assistant IG for Administration and Management, Office of the Chief Learning Officer.

This position is located within the Office of Inspector General, Assistant IG for Administration and Management, Office of the Chief Learning Officer.
Duties
- Serves as a Program Manager responsible for executing program activities:
- Assess training and development needs via the Individual Development Plans (IDPs), various needs assessments, and surveys resulting a needs report to identify the resources necessary to meet the identified developmental needs.
- Collaborates with OIG's expert(s) to develop, conduct, schedule, monitor and evaluate new or changing initiatives affecting human resources programs and activities.
- Ensures all course content is in compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
- Assists participants, Training Coordinators, and procurement staff to coordinate and monitor the registration and payment process for the approved training.
- Routinely briefs the Chief Learning Officer of program development and implementation progress, making recommendations for program direction and evolution.
- Analyzes participant data, including feedback, to determine program impacts, identify program successes or areas for improvement, and make recommendations to the Chief Learning Officer to maximize program effectiveness for all participants.
- Monitors and analyzes proposed regulatory and legal training requirements to determine possible impact on existing training activities and provides recommendations to the Chief Learning Officer.
- Assists the Chief Learning Officer in collaborating with officials from their respective components of OIG to ensure that OIG and Government-wide policies and program requirements are accomplished. Briefs management officials as necessary regarding program objectives, actions, milestones, recommendations for improvements.
- Maintains appropriate oversight in regard to those employee development programs at the operating level and provides assistance and advice.
- Develops and administers evaluation programs and policies designed to determine the effectiveness of OIG learning and development activities and initiatives.
- Analyzes, identifies, and resolves training and development needs for managers based on OIG's long-range requirements and mission statement. Reviews traditional and non-traditional training methods to evaluate effectiveness.
- Maintains a current awareness of specialized training requirements based on new programs/projects initiated by the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, the General Accounting Office, the Office of Personnel Management, the Department of Transportation, OIG, or other authoritative source. Through careful tracking of new requirements, designs or initiates the procurement of unique courses to meet OIG needs.
