Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a Senior Acquisition Program Analyst to support the Department of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board within a multi-project/multi-task Staffing and Technical Acquisition Services contract for the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ). The Senior Acquisition Program Analyst will have experience working with senior government executives, a solid understanding of DoD protocol, and experience in conducting detailed studies.
This senior-level, full-time position is located in Washington, DC. This is a remote position but may require attending meetings in person. This is a contingent hire position.

The Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) is responsible for acquiring weapons systems for the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and serves as the Senior Procurement Executive, the Service Acquisition Executive (SAE) and acquisition representative on the Air Force Council. SAF/AQ oversees the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and procurement of major Air Force platforms and systems across the full breadth of air and space capabilities. Primary Responsibilities
- Collecting, evaluating, and digitally organizing files, papers, briefings, reports, and other materials using Microsoft Office programs. Prepare technical documents for publication and presentation, which includes basic and applied scientific research subject matter.
- Providing editing and writing support.
- Compiling reports and recommendations. Assisting with publication review and printing.
- Developing and maintaining a study master schedule that includes meetings, key dates, study panel personnel, contact information, and anticipated deliverable and out brief dates.
- Planning, organizing, and executing meetings, out briefs, and events for large groups of people associated with studies, Science and Technology (S&T) Reviews, and quarterly board meetings.
- Making hotel reservations, coordinate/provide transportation, and organize meals for large groups of people associated with SAB studies, S&T Reviews, and quarterly board meetings.
- Requesting the submission or transfer of security clearance information for organizational personnel and track receipt.
- Assisting with set up and use of IT support at meetings and events (Computer, Projector, Screen, and internet or network connection).
- Researching and analyzing organizational or process issues and recommend solutions.
- Proposing ideas to improve studies, S&T reviews, and quarterly board meetings.
- Researching, analyzing, and reporting on S&T trends that may affect SAB Studies.
- Researching, analyzing, and providing information on Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)/DAF scientific and programmatic studies (e.g., Defense Science Board (DSB), Nuclear Regulatory Committee (NRC), and Air Force Studies and Analysis Agency (AFSAA).
- Writing, reviewing, and providing written material for official release.
- Researching and analyzing trends and factors that affect SAB studies, reviews, and resources.
- Drafting briefings, papers, reports, responses to inquiries, descriptive summaries, meeting minutes, and detailed spreadsheets related to studies, S&T reviews, and quarterly board meetings.
- Providing support to track the Suggestion Program, Freedom of Information Act, and Mandatory Declassification Review Cases.
- Propose, maintain, and report on travel budget for S&T reviews and study-related travel.
- Mark, label, secure, file and maintain all classified information associated with S&T reviews and studies using government approved and/or appropriated IT systems and/or storage devices.
- Handles confidential and classified (Secret/TS-SCI) information, correspondence, and communications.
- Any other tasks closely aligned with duties above.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years acquisition or Air Force operational experience and Master's degree in related field.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance required. Active TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred.
- Experience in managing and conducting complex federal contract assignments preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Consulting experience supporting large, complex Cabinet-level federal agencies.
