Duties
Maintains water chemistry and sanitation in all pools. Operates water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards through readings , recording results, and making necessary corrections to achieve a safe, healthful balance. Changes barrels of chlorine and other chemicals and ensures that adequate supplies are on hand. Backwashes filters.
Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks by clearing, landscaping, and cutting grass, edging, etc. and repairing as needed. Operates a variety of related equipment such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, hedge trimmers, blowers and edgers. Uses all types of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, hoes, hammers, etc. Service equipment before use and may do minor repairs and adjustments as necessary. Upon completion of tasks, cleans equipment after use. Notifies the supervisor immediately of any missing items and equipment malfunctions needing repair.
Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Cleans disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, sinks and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors and water fountains. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap. Immediately reports water leaks and/or broken fixtures to supervisor for repair.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all pools, beaches, and bathhouses. Vacuums pools, cleans decks, locker rooms, and picks up debris around surrounding facility, empties all trash receptacles daily. Performs minor repairs as necessary.
Operates vehicle and assists in unloading and loading of trucks. May open, unpack and remove content of cartons and store in assigned locations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate possess the following:
Skill in the use and maintenance of pool equipment with the ability to interpret pool readings to maintain proper water chemistry, backwash filters and operate automated feed equipment. Basic knowledge of Navy Safety and Health regulations and local policies is strongly preferred. Must have the ability to operate and perform routine maintenance and repair on a variety of equipment used in outdoor maintenance, such as weed eaters, lawn mowers, edgers, etc. Knowledge of basic cleaning and janitorial technique and procedures as well as the ability to work with basic equipment, materials and supplies used in maintaining facilities in a clean sanitary state. Must have the ability to follow verbal or written instructions and carry our instructions independently.
Education
