Do you have a passion for public transit? Do you want to help Metro understand how people use the system, what factors influence their travel choices, and how customers are impacted by policy proposals? Can you quickly show a busy executive what a large database is telling us about transit ridership patterns? Do you want to help improve Metro from the inside?

If you said yes to any of these questions, you might be the next Business Intelligence Analyst on the Ridership and Mobility Analysis team in Metro's Planning office. Our team integrates and leverages big data to develop actionable intelligence on ridership, regional mobility, and the customer experience. Analyses touch on a range of topics, including the impact of planned service changes, unplanned disruptions, special events, fare policy, changing regional travel patterns, and more.

We are looking for candidates with critical thinking, data science, and research skills; experience working with transportation data and querying SQL databases; and a passion for improving public transit service for riders. The right candidates can transform a large dataset into useful information, and help turn information into ideas and action.
