Senior Associate, Marketing Transformation Strategist

The Consumer Card Marketing Team is looking for an innovative, passionate, and data-driven candidate to fill a high-profile position within the Card Marketing organization. In this role, our ideal candidate will manage a large volume of work, use data in new ways, embrace testing, and leverage new tools to push the business forward. You will be responsible for leading process improvements, establishing new frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive marketing transformation. Competitive candidates exercise strong judgment on when to move forward and when to keep iterating, effectively influences others' thinking, builds relationships across the organization, and should thrive in a fast paced environment.

Role Overview:

  • Supports marketing transformation for Upmarket and Premium teams, specifically:
    • Onboarding team members to new tools;
    • Operationalizing and optimizing the operating model;
    • Identifying training needs, collaborating with SMEs, and facilitating trainings with the Upmarket & Premium team; and
    • Best practice sharing across the UM, Premium and segment marketing teams
  • Subject matter expert in how the tools work, capabilities unlocked, and how marketers can take advantage of the new platforms to enhance their marketing
  • Voice of the customer (marketing team), representing needs, concerns, and feedback, and translating it into an actionable plan to drive adoption and usage
  • Evangelizes the spirit of marketing transformation


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure continued, well-managed rollout of new tools and processes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, platform enhancements to address pain points
  • Understand platform capabilities of each tool, how marketers can/should use them, and what capabilities need to be unlocked in the future in order to fully leverage the tool
  • Identify training opportunities and support existing training initiatives to help drive sustainable and well-managed change management for our team
  • Share best practices for other Segment teams who have not yet onboarded to new tools
  • Support workstreams that help build the future state of how we want marketing to work at Capital One (specifically for the Upmarket and Premium LOBs), including training, journey management, capability scaling, team onboarding, and operating model
  • Support the execution of use cases that unlock net new capabilities or enhancements
  • Leverage understanding of martech stack to identify areas of expansion and drivers of efficiency for pod delivery and marketing effectiveness
  • Communicate achieved pod milestones and ongoing performance to leadership outside of the pod
  • Establish a network of help and strong relationships across partners (business, creative, martech, data, operations, etc.) to drive priority changes


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 2 years ofexperience in brand strategy or marketing operations experience with experience managing multiple channels, agency or client side
  • At least 2 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 2 years experience in managing campaign execution processes, partnering with delivery teams and developing optimization frameworks


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in marketing or business
  • 2+ year of experience in marketing for financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • 2+ years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
  • Experience in customer marketing journey management, marketing technology, and/or marketing automation

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $99,500 - $113,600 for Sr. Associate, Marketing

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
