Overview
The Systems Administrator maintains and supports the integrity of the client and server operating system environments by administering, installing and troubleshooting a variety of hardware platforms and operating systems, performing systems maintenance tasks (system back-up, recovery, file maintenance), maintaining business application software with vendor releases and upgrade schedules, and maintaining physical IT asset management database. This role is also responsible for planning and refreshing end-of-life desktop hardware and software, performing user identity and access management, and providing tier 2 user support and fulfill user hardware, software and access requests.

Responsibilities
- Manage system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems, including configuration management, security and account management
- Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks and servers to meet business demands
- Maintains application, web, and database servers that are primarily hosted on a Windows or Linux server environment
- Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures remain aligned with organizational goals and objectives
- Assist in creating system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programming and development teams
- Deploy workstations, network devices, servers, storage devices, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and all host security systems
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure
- Perform upgrades of existing client server based business applications as required
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
- Perform file system configuration and management; define and perform server backups and recovery procedures
- Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Serve as cornerstone for escalating server issues; provide timely response to customer escalations
- Provide after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Information Systems field
- Working knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows server environments
- Knowledge of cloud based technologies available from Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Good project management skills
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and/or with members
- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple assignments and stay on schedule
- Accuracy and detail-orientation
- Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
- Ability to work Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level government security clearance
Preferred
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux server environments.
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Working knowledge of CISCO UCS infrastructure
- Familiarity with the Okta platform
- Experience with Cohesity and Zerto applications
- Office 365 and Teams Administration
- Database technologies including Microsoft SQL server
