Cashiering and ALM Operations ManagerThe George Mason University Student Accounts Office, invites candidates to apply for the position of Cashiering and ALM Operations Manager. This position reports to the Associate Director of Student Accounts. Responsibilities:The Cashiering and ALM Operations Manager works collaboratively with Third-Party Billing, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, and the General Accounting offices. This position is responsible for:Accurate cash-handling, balancing, and reconciliation of accounts;Processing student payments, and departmental and grant deposits;Accurate record-keeping;Past due accounts receivable collections;Inquiries related to departmental and student deposits;Information submission in preparation of various financial reports; andPerkins Loan processes and reconciliation.Required Qualifications:Associate degree and progressive accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor and composure at all times;Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates, as well as manage office operations;Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with the university community and general public;Demonstrated organizational, time and project management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, while paying attention to detail;Knowledge of a variety of software programs including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new software;Understanding and experience with proper cash-handling policies, as well as audit practices and procedures;Ability to analyze and interpret accounting information and reconcile transactions; andUnderstanding of internal control principles and compliant debt collection practices.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field and university experience;Supervisory experience managing a minimum of two direct reports;Experience with Ellucian Banner Student and Accounts Receivable, TouchNet Bill and Payment, or equivalent systems; andExperience administering a Perkins Loan program to include promissory note and exit interview processes, as well as fund reconciliation.
