Join the team at George Mason University's Child Development Center. We have multiple part-time positions available in Preschool, Pre-K, and Kitchen Management. Applicants must be able to work until 6 p.m. Our program offers play-based, NAEYC accredited educational experiences for children ages 2-5 years of age. Responsibilities:This position will report to the Director of the Child Development Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Support the daily care and education of each child in accordance with Mason's CDC philosophy and values as well as all licensing guidelines and NAEYC criteria;Communicate directly with parents to establish and maintain family partnerships in the best interest of each child;Help maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean, organized, developmentally appropriate and engaging with the guidance of the Lead and Assistant Teachers; andSupport meal prep and cleaning of kitchen in the absence of Kitchen Manager (requires Food Handler's certificate).Required Qualifications:Experience working in a licensed childcare facility or school;A High School diploma or equivalent;Must be at least 18 years of age;Some coursework, in early childhood education or child development preferred; andBackground check clearance and TB risk assessment.Things we love about the Mason CDC:Fun, friendly work environment;Energetic and diverse university campus;Complimentary lunch for all staff;Warm, supportive families;Extended winter holiday closure; andPosition offers an average of up to 29 hours/week.We are looking for candidates that possess a respect for children's individuality and a passion for nurturing the growth and development of young children with love, patience, and empathy.
