By prioritizing inclusive excellence in academics, teaching, research, and global engagement, we strive to attract a diverse pool of faculty and staff who exemplify the Mason Science mission and vision.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Assistant supports the Finance Leadership with:Monitoring financial activity to meet planned expenditures in accordance with State, University, and College policies and procedures;Performing monthly reconciliations for assigned Orgs;Purchasing goods and services using eVA procurement system and the GMU P-card;Assisting with creating and maintaining filing system for COS accounts;Maintaining accurate, up-to-date information on the revenues and expenditures for the department (logging, saving, and tracking of supporting documentation) for E&G;Preparing and enters JVs in Banner;Monitoring COS Finance inbox; andData entry processing as required by COS.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Excellent organizational and financial skills;Attention to detail;Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population;Experience with and working knowledge of MS Office Suite software programs;Consistently meets deadlines; andAbility to assess priorities, organize and operate in a flexible manner.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a financial role using Ellucian/Banner System;Experience with the eVA procurement system, and state and university purchasing guidelines; andExperience at a University or similar setting.
