Purchasing AssistantGeorge Mason University Fiscal Services is looking for a part-time Purchasing Assistant. This position supports the Purchasing Operations Staff and reports to the P-Card & eVA Support Supervisor.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for:Front Desk SupportOpen and electronically distribute mail;Respond to email general department questions;Assist other staff members with various projects; andAnswer phones.Purchasing Operations SupportCreating and updating vendor records in Mason's Financial system Banner;Processing and distributing P-Cards to Mason staff;Administrative support to Purchasing Operations staff; andOngoing maintenance of the P-Card database.Required Qualifications:Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office software, or computer equipment and software;Proven customer service skills;Aptitude for accurate and detail-oriented work;Solid organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities for self and others, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment;Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for providing customer service in a diverse, academic environment and for interacting with staff, faculty, students, and members of the public; andWell-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
